Do Ghosts Exist In Our World?

Have you ever wondered if ghosts exist in our world? Or perhaps you've already made up your mind, or you might even be one of the few that have encountered a ghost. If you've seen one then the question do ghosts exist is already answered for you.

You might be surprised to find out that in a poll conducted by CBS news that the majority of people believe in ghosts, 48% said ghosts do exists and 45% said that they don't. Myself, I believe that there is something to this phenomena, what that is I'm not sure. But it is worth exploring.

First, let me say I have never seen a ghost, heard one or had any experience that would prove to me that ghosts actually do exist in this world other than that I have met, and heard stories from people that have seen or experienced what would be considered a paranormal experience. This intrigues me. The people that have told me stories about their experiences with ghosts seem normal enough, have no reason to lie and have no ulterior motives.

So, do ghosts exist?

Before we tackle the question and make the final decision whether ghosts do or do not exist, I'll take a quick look at what a ghost is or isn't.

For centuries man has been trying to answer this question and I don't know that I have any particularly special foresight or knowledge on the question, but I will take a hard look at what we already know.

Religions teach us that there is an afterlife. We are taught, irregardless of religious background that we have souls and after we die our souls go to some form of afterlife. This place can vary with religion and is too involved to cover here, but suffice to say that religion teaches us there is an afterlife.

About the same percentage of people believe in life after death as do believe in ghosts, but what is interesting is that almost 80% of people believe we have souls. So if we have souls, when we die where do these souls go? And if we die and our souls don't go to heaven where do they end up? Answer these questions and we'll have our answer as to what is a ghost.

So, who are the experts on these matters? Should we look to a ghosthunter or a paranormal investigator or does religion offer us an answer? Perhaps the answer lies with them all.

To understand ghosts, we must begin with the soul, or a part of us, some form of energy that when we die leaves our physical body and survives. This is essential to understand what a ghost is. Once this energy, soul or personality leaves our bodies it survives in some fashoin beyond our physical death. This energy is the essence of our personality, our emotions and concerns if you will. When this energy leaves this plane of existence and passes on to the other realm, what ever that is, it is said to be a spirit.

One theory is that spirits know and understand that they are dead and ghosts don't.This understanding of death is necessary for our souls, or the energy that survives our physical death needs to pass on to the next plane of existence. This energy that stays behind is often believed to have gone through a traumatic experience here in this plane that prevents it from passing on.

Other people believe that ghosts are images or photographs of a persons existence. In other words, ghosts are a sort of record or an imprint of a persons emotions. It is in essence an energy left behind that replays a certain scenario over and over.

Despite video, audio and eyewitness testimony there still is no clear scientific evidence that undoubtedly proves the existence of ghosts. Some investigators point to Einsteins Theory of Relativity as proof that ghosts must exist. Does this mean ghost don't exist? My answer without a doubt is no!

Despite the many hoaxes and scams, false and misleading evidence in the form of pictures, audio recordings and phony eyewitness testimony, there still remains a small percentage of sightings, photographs and recordings that cannot be explained in any other fashion than as paranormal experiences.

Science is known to disavow anything it cannot explain and the paranormal fits all to well into this category. Religion for the most part believes in the afterlife, but ghosts in the eyes of religion are always satanic in nature, While paranormal investigators state that many ghosts are harmless and more confused than dangerous.

Despite the disagreements between the scientific, religious and the paranormal field, ghosts do exist in this world. Too many have witnessed them either by sight, sound or touch. The witnesses seem to repeat similar experiences. Talk of spirits, ghosts and other paranormal phenomena have been part of common folklore since the beginning of time. Because science cannot prove the existence of ghosts doesn't disprove there existence.

The proof of ghosts existence in this world is with the many eyewitnesses that I and others have listened to and the many eyewitness stories, photographs and audio recordings I and others have listened to.
